About the hosts:

Mel Spooner is a leading figure in the fitness industry, with a career spanning over two decades. She has worked with
major global brands, including Technogym, MYZONE, TRX, and NASM, shaping strategies and education within the
sector. Spooner is known for bringing people together — championing progress, collaboration,
and diversity across borders. She regularly speaks at fitness industry events and conferences, sharing insights to
improve education, drive innovation, and expand access.
Through her leadership, partnerships, and advocacy, Mel Spooner continues to shape the future of health education
and content — making high-quality knowledge available to more people, in more places, than ever before.

Dr. Colin Robertson is a distinguished exercise and nutrition scientist, with a career spanning over three decades in
high-performance sports, clinical exercise physiology, and sports science research. He holds a PhD in Exercise
Physiology, along with BSc and MSc degrees in Sports Science, Exercise, and Nutrition. Additionally, he is an accredited
Strength and Conditioning Coach (UKSCA), a registered nutritionist with the British Dietetics Association, and an
accredited Kinanthropometrist (body composition specialist).

Together, they co-host the Common Knowledge podcast — a space where science meets real life. Covering topics like
cancer recovery, gut health, menopause, and prediabetes, Mel and Col translate complex health topics into practical,
no-nonsense advice that should already be common knowledge.
